Christmas – Jesus Christ is still the reason for the Season

December is the season and month of Celebration, a season of Joy, a season of love, of giving, of Hope and sharing with one another but most of all the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the light of the world, Gods gift to us, sending us His only begotten from our loving father Almighty God.

In today’s world, much has been made to remove Christ from Christmas which is a shortened form of Christ‘s mass“. ‘The annual Christian festival celebrating Christ’s birth held on 25 December in the Western Church’, to Santa Claus (St Nicholas) secular culture of exchanging gifts to the needy and loved ones.  In the UK of today, you will have to enter a Church to know its about JESUS and watch or listen to Christmas Carols. Its no more seen as a religious celebration like the Jewish – Hanukka celebration, or the Hindus – Diwali celebration or the Muslims – Eid celebration all marketed as religious celebrations in High street Supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s but NOT CHRISTMAS.

It is, therefore, quintessential for Churches, Christian based charities and organizations to proclaim, highlight, market JESUS AS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Many children know more about Santa and his reindeer than Jesus and the 3 wise men. It is therefore every Christians mission to make sure we do our best to promote JESUS AS THE REASON FOR CHRISTMAS.

This year we celebrated Jesus birth with our sister Church Fountain of peace, Europe district Choir, LOCM choir and were above all honored by having our Fathers and Mothers in the Lord rendering some beautiful Yoruba Carols.

It was truly mesmerizing, a memorable day that cannot be forgotten. It was an emotional day for us all and all that was present felt the love and joy of Christmas. Hence celebrating the WOrd….For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

WISHING YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR…AYONIO!
