Overview from the Chair of Board of Trustees

WORDS FROM THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
It gives me immense joy to rejoice with the entire members of the glorious new covenant family as we commence the year 2014 which has been declared our year of abundant grace. The past year had no doubt been tough such the Psalmist declaration in Psalm 124: 1 (If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may the new covenant family say;) is apposite. Indeed it was the grace of the Lord God Almighty that saw us through turbulence of the past year.  We will continue to celebrate our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for granting us the enablement to ride the storm and to behold His glorious light at the end of the tunnel.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to appreciate you all for your love, support, prayers and contribution towards the success recorded since we came on board in April last year. We assumed office at a most critical time in the life of this family, when the devil and his agents were on the rampage. It was their misconception that it is only a question of time before everything will be as per their wish. Alas, they were mistaken because the edifice was built on Christ the Solid Rock by whose grace we will for ever be victorious as it was in deed our year of triumph. Therefore, we have no iota of doubt that with the abundant grace of God and your active support we will surmount the challenges of 2014 and beyond.

Our Vision & Mission
These have not changed and are indeed not changeable as long the Lord lives and as long as Jesus tarries. We remain committed to the “great commission” of our Lord Jesus Christ as stated in Matthew 28:18-20 and put under the following three headings;
·        Ministry to God: Established to worship and serve the Lord
·        Ministry to believers: To nurture those who already believe
·        Ministry to the world: Evangelism and mercy with strong community engagement
This board is committed to tapping on the rich resources available in order to build the church into that akin to the church in Philadelphia (Rev 3:7-11) which is noted for all positive attributes. We also intend to move some notches higher on evangelism. In this regard, we will work closely with the Elders in Council and the Youth fellowship in the task of spreading the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Conclusion
Finally brethren, let us of the new covenant family remind ourselves that because the Almighty God loved us so much, He did not allow the storms of 2013 make casualties of us. We should however not take His grace for granted. The Christian race as we know is neither for the weak nor for the fearful: but no matter how diligent/strong we are, God’s grace is needed to win. To benefit from this grace though referred to as unmerited favour, we must remain within the remit of the covenant wherein we have been sealed. Non keeping of our own part of the covenant has its adverse consequence. Shall we continue in sin and expect God’s grace to abound? (Romans 6:1) Therefore as we all assemble for worship in 2014 we must in oneness of heart set up the tabernacle of the congregation in the presence of the Lord. And the land will be subdued before us. (Joshua 18:1)
Once again as your prayers and support had been relevant in seeing us thus far, we seek them again as we step into 2014. We have unwavering faith that the abundant grace of the Lord God Almighty will make the year to be a fruitful and glorious one for us all.
Remain blessed
